Tombo Poké in Soho, London is a Poké & Matcha Bar. A what? Yes, a POKÉ & MATCHA BAR. If you don’t know what Poké is, click here. Matcha is the healthy green coloured Japanese tea you see popping up everywhere. Tombo (Japanese for dragonfly) is the first ever Matcha Bar in London, sourcing it directly from their estate in Shizuoka, Japan.
Located in the quieter area of Soho, Tombo Poké & Matcha Bar is a small 2-level Café/Bar which breathes positivity, tranquillity and a bit of feminism.
At the counter, you can pick one of the Signature Poke bowls from the menu or create your own bowl of magic. Then, pick one of ways-of-serving-Matcha-drinks; Tea, Latte, Matchiato or even the Ice Cream way! Their signature drinks, truly creative creations!
I’ve decided to go with the Salmon Avo Lux (£7.95) & a shot of Matcha Tea (£2.90) (nothing fancy). After some time, you get a good bowl of fresh & delicious tasting Poke served!
Served with Black & White Rice, Edamame, Avocado, Nori, Wasabi Soy Sauce, Salmon Caviar & Fresh Raw Salmon. A chopstick (or spoon) of all creates a delicious soury/sweet/creamy taste, as the Salmon Caviar, Soy Sauce, Salmon & Rice all do their part. Flush it away with some Matcha Tea.
A spot worth visiting if you’re around Soho or South Kensington with your girl or friend(s) and you’re dying for a quick lunch, pre-dinner or something to fills you up. Don’t expect full table service or an engaging waitress, but a bowl full of fresh food!
