The Tank method is a cheaper & faster way to produce sparkling wine. Don’t read less quality than for example Champagne, but made in a different way.
Most Prosecco, Sekt from Germany & New World sparkling is made the Tank method.
The Tank method follows the same steps as the Traditional method, but the 2nd fermentation happens in a pressurized tank. The tank is filled with the base wine. Then yeast & sugar is added to start the fermentation. As the tank is air-tight, the carbon dioxide dissolves in the wine creating…bubbles.
The sparkling wine is then run through a filter, dosage & bottled ready for shipment.
